【摘要】:SamplingofdecoratedglasscontainersfortheTCLPcanvarygreatly,resultingfromthesizeandshapeofthearticlerelativetotheamountofceramicdecorationontheware.Breakingtheglasscancausesomeofthepiecestohavenodecorationonthem,andotherstobeheavilydecoratedandmorelikelytoleachleadandcadmiumundertheTCLPtest.ThismethodprovidesaneffectivetooltohomogenizetheglasscontainerssothatreproducibleresultscanbeattainedfromtheTCLPtest.1.1ThistestmethoddefinesthewayinwhichcontainerglasswareshouldbepreparedbeforeperformingtheToxicityCharacteristicLeachingProcedure(TCLP).Themethodcoversthehomogenizationofthesample,andtheselectionofarepresentativeportionofthesampletotestandgetreproducibleresults.1.2Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesandtodeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
