Scope:The purpose of this information report is to provide minimum design criteria for oxygen equipment to be used on commercial transport aircraft which fly above 45,000 ft. To separate these requirements from those for spaceplanes, the maximum flight altitude for aircraft defined by this report is limited to the maximum altitude obtainable by aircraft using air-breathing engines.
