【摘要】:Thispracticecoverstheproceduresforcomputingmaterialpropertycharacteristicvaluesforpolymericcompositematerialsintendedforuseincivilengineeringstructuralapplications.Acharacteristicvaluerepresentsastatisticallowerboundonthematerialpropertystructuralmemberresistancefactorsforcivilengineeringdesigncodesforcompositestructures.Thispracticemaybeusedtoobtaincharacteristicvaluesforstiffnessandstrengthpropertiesofcompositematerialsobtainedfrommeasurementsusingapplicabletestmethods.1.1Thispracticecoverstheproceduresforcomputingcharacteristicvaluesofmaterialpropertiesofpolymericcompositematerialsintendedforuseincivilengineeringstructuralapplications.Thecharacteristicvalueisastatistically-basedmaterialpropertyrepresentingthe80%lowerconfidenceboundonthe5th-percentilevalueofaspecifiedpopulation.Characteristicvaluesdeterminedusingthisstandardpracticecanbeusedtocalculatestructuralmemberresistancevaluesindesigncodesforcompositecivilengineeringstructuresandforestablishinglimitsuponwhichqualificationandacceptancecriteriacanbebased.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
