【摘要】:Rockcoresaresamplesofrecordoftheexistingsubsurfaceconditionsatgivenboreholelocations.Thesamplesareexpectedtoyieldsignificantindicationsaboutthegeological,physical,andengineeringnatureofthesubsurfaceforuseinthedesignandconstructionofanengineeredstructure(seeGuideD420.Thecoresamplesneedtobepreservedusingspecificproceduresforastipulatedtime(PracticesD5079).Theperiodofstoragedependsuponthenatureandsignificanceoftheengineeredstructure.Rockcoresalwaysneedtobehandledsuchthattheirpropertiesarenotalteredinanywayduetomechanicaldamageorchangesinambientconditionsofmoistureandtemperatureorotherenvironmentalfactors.1.1Thispracticecoverstheguidelines,requirements,andproceduresforcoredrilling,coring,andsamplingofrockforthepurposesofsiteinvestigation.Theboreholecouldbevertical,horizontal,orangled.1.2Thispracticeisdescribedinthecontextofobtainingdataforthedesign,construction,ormaintenanceofstructures,andappliestosurfacedrillinganddrillingfromaditsandexploratorytunnels.1.3Thispracticeappliestocoredrillinginhardandsoftrock.1.4Thispracticedoesnotaddressconsiderationsforcoredrillingforgeo-environmentalsitecharacterizationandinstallationofwaterqualitymonitoringdevices(seeGuidesD5782andD5783).1.5Thevaluesstatedininch-poundunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.TheSIvaluesgiveninparenthesesareprovidedforinformationpurposesonly.1.6Thispracticedoesnotpurporttocomprehensivelyaddressallofthemethodsandtheissuesassociatedwithcoringandsamplingofrock.Usersshouldseekqualifiedprofessionalsfordecisionsastotheproperequipmentandmethodsthatwouldbemostsuccessfulfortheirsiteinvestigation.Othermethodsmaybeavailablefordrillingandsamplingofrock,andqualifiedprofessionalsshouldhaveflexibilitytoexercisejudgmentastopossiblealternativesnotcoveredinthispractice.Thispracticeiscurrentatthetimeofissue,butnewalternativemethodsmaybecomeavailablepriortorevisions;therefore,usersshouldconsultwithmanufacturersorproducerspriortospecifyingprogramrequirements.Thispracticeoffersasetofinstructionsforperformingoneormorespecificoperations.Thisdocumentcannotreplaceeducationorexperienceandshouldbeusedinconjunctionwithprofessionaljudgment.Notallaspectsofthispracticemaybeapplicableinallcircumstances.ThisASTMstandardisnotintendedtorepresentorreplacethestandardofcarebywhichtheadequacyofagivenprofessionalservicemustbejudged,norshouldthisdocumentbeappliedwithoutconsiderationofaproject'smanyuniqueaspects.Theword"Standard"inthetitleofthisdocumentmeansonlythatthedocumenthasbeenapprovedthroughtheASTMconsensusprocess.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.Also,theusermustcomplywithprevalentregulatorycodes,suchasOSHA(OccupationalHealthandSafetyAdministration)guidelines,whileusingthispractice.Forgoodsafetypractice,consultapplicableOSHAregulationsandothersafetyguidesondrilling().
